REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a browser-based application developed by Vanderbilt University for building and managing online surveys and databases. REDCap allows the creation of custom data entry forms and surveys and supports the tracking of changes over time via longitudinal studies. A mobile app is available for iOS and Android, allowing both online and offline data collection. Data can be exported to Excel, SPSS, and SAS, with the software able to limit export of fields marked as identifiers.
The application has been designed to allow compliance with standards related to research involving human subjects, including HIPAA and FERPA.
